NCTJ booklist
The National Council for the Training of Journalists (NCTJ) has overseen the premier journalism training scheme in the UK for more than 50 years, accrediting courses, setting exams and awarding qualifications, chiefly the National Certificate, the professional qualification for senior newspaper journalists, press photographers and photojournalists. It also offers careers information, distance learning and continuing professional development through a wide range of short courses, such as sub-editing. The NCTJ is an independent registered charity which is supported by many professional and trade organisations, including the CIoJ. It is based at the New Granary, Station Road, Newport, Saffron Walden, Essex, CB11 3PL (01799 544014; fax 01799 544015; e-mail: info@nctj.com; www.nctj.com).
